Acne is a skin condition that is quite common in people during their puberty. Most doctors attribute the start of acne to hormonal fluctuations; mainly in the fluctuation of the hormone, testosterone. As coffee is considered to aggravate acne in your skin, it is better to limit your daily consumption of coffee as a preventive measure. In addition to this, make it a point to maintain a good diet as the micronutrients available in fruits and vegetables help in providing vital vitamins and minerals that ensure a clear skin.

Stress is one of the factors that aggravate acne. So it is important to reduce stress by following relaxation techniques, exercise and by adapting a positive attitude to life. By exercising, not only is stress reduced, the oxygen levels in the skin is increased which in turn helps in reducing acne. If under stress, it is important to cleanse your skin frequently else the acne flares up. Use an anti-bacterial face wash at least twice a day for maximum cleansing of your skin, and maximum results.

Smoking is known to drastically worsen acne; so if you smoke, make it a point to stop or at least cut down smoking to control your acne condition. There are many acne products that prove to be useful in controlling acne. However it is better to gradually introduce these products to your skin. This is because some products may cause a reaction on your body which may last for a few days. Don't try multiple products at a time; try a single product at a time to find out which product agrees with your skin and which does not.

People suffering from acne along the hair line or on the forehead have to develop a habit of shampooing regularly. This is because this form of acne is basically due to the build up of fatty acids. If you have a habit of exercising, make it a point to shower after all your workouts. This is because the sweat of your body, with oils in your skin, tends to trap dirt and bacteria which in turn leads to acne.

Removing makeup before sleeping is an important tip in controlling acne. This is because make up tends to clog skin pores, and thus worsen acne. Make it a habit to drink several glasses of water in a day as this helps in flushing out all the toxins found in the body and skin. Too much of a toxin build up only leads to an extreme case of acne in the body.
