Chest, like common facial acne, is a skin disorder disease. Acne appears because of the overproduction of sebum, oil which is produced by the sebaceous glands. That leads to clogged pores and acne formations. The fact that there are many sebaceous glands on chest makes it another acne-prone area. Chest acne, except the fact that it's very annoying, sometimes it can be painful too.

Some of the main causes of the clogged pores which lead to chest acne are the below:

• Hormonal Imbalance plays a major role behind the overproduction of sebum which leads to acne.
• More sweat which is produced in summers mixes with the sebum and causes clogging of the pores. If the pores stay clogged for a prolonged period of time it may cause acne.
• Tight-fitting clothes can also affect chest acne. They don't allow the sweat to evaporate which causes clogged pores and chest acne.
• Pampering your chest with inappropriate (non oil-free) products can also cause clogged pores and acne.

Dealing with chest acne sometimes is very difficult because of the large skin area. But with the following steps you can get rid of it completely:

1. Taking a shower often is a must (especially in summer) in order to avoid more clogging of the pores. It's best to use a soap which includes salicylic acid. Try to be gentle and don't over rub your skin.
2. Except from that you must apply an appropriate medication on your skin daily. The best is to use a medication which includes Benzoyl Peroxide so as to kill the acne-causing bacteria. Also if you notice that your chest is too dry or tight, apply an oil-free moisturizer like Aloe Vera.
3. Wear loose-fitting clothes in breathable fabrics like cotton so as to allow your sweat evaporate.
4. Increase the consumption of fruits, salads, water and vitamins (A,B,E) to assist the detoxification of your body.
5. Sleep a lot (8 hours everyday) to allow your skin to recover.
6. Do not touch your chest with dirty hands so as to avoid transferring any bacteria.

Doing the above, you will be able to get rid of your acne in a few weeks. Remember that you have to do all the steps in order to have the results you want. You can consult your doctor for more help and guidance through the treatment.
